Dear HES Family,
Its hard to believe that its already April. March blew in and out
rather quickly. The 2007-2008 school year will soon be a mere memory. Students
will begin TCAP tests on Thursday and Friday, April 10th 11th and finish
next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, April 14-16th. We will enjoy Spring Break
April 21-25th and almost before we turn around, May will arrive.
Last week, we met to begin planning our summer school program. Our theme this
year is 212 degrees. At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, water boils.
Applying that extra degree of temperature to water means the difference in something
that is very hot and something that generates enough force to power a machine.
I believe this simple metaphor describes this year at HES. I have observed our
faculty, staff, students, and families consistently pushing toward the extra
effort in every task we undertake. Turning up the heat
applying just a
bit more oomph than normal. Reaching deep
.fighting a bit harder.
Standing firm
showing up again and again.
Friends, little things do matter. Success comes through persistence: never giving
up, going the extra mile, and finding joy in the here and now. Thank you for
allowing me to join you on this wonderful journey. Together, we are making a
difference.
Blessings,
Robin
